    11/13/2013 Alpine Union School District Fiscal Facts Submitted By Tom Pellegrino, Superintendent   What key factors caused the current financial challenge?  Fact:  AUSD’s fiscal problem is a direct result of extreme declining enrollment, statewide funding cuts to education, and a health benefit package that is too costly for the District to fund without employee contributions.
