“An Unchartered Charter” Mountain View Learning Academy (MVLA) is a successful example of what an “unchartered charter” represents. MVLA is truly a school environment that provides the flexibility of a charter school/independent study program with all the supports and benefits of a public school, including access to transportation, school nurse services, library, innovative technology, full-service cafeteria, playground facilities, multi-purpose room, guidance counseling, as well as student support services such as speech, special education, and occupational therapy.​ All curriculum materials are provided by MVLA and are based on the California State Standards.
