GAFSC Suspends Programs Because of the Government Shutdown

Dear Neighbors, (10-17-13) Greater Alpine Fire Safe Council is among the scores of organizations who are affected by the federal government shutdown.  The vast majority of our funding comes from two grants: one from the US Forest Service, and one from the California Fire Safe Council (also a grantee of the US Forest Service).  Until the federal government shutdown ends, neither grant will be funded.  Once the shutdown ends, our next grant payments may be significantly delayed as the federal payment processing center in Albuquerque sorts through an untold number of reports and requests.
