40 Volunteers Remove 5,000 Pounds of Trash from Alpine Creek – April 25, 2015

On Saturday, April 25th, Back Country Land Trust hosted our third annual watershed cleanup along Alpine Creek in Alpine, as part of I Love A Clean San Diego’s countywide “Creek to Bay” cleanup event.  This year, we also partnered with the Alpine / Mountain Empire Chamber of Commerce for their I Love A Clean Alpine recycling and household waste disposal community fair.     Despite the cold, rainy weather it was BCLT’s biggest event turnout yet, with 40 volunteers removing nearly 5,000 pounds of trash from the waterway that flows in to El Capitan Reservoir (City of San Diego potable…
