2 Horses Hit on Freeway in Alpine – March 11, 2015

3-11-15 – Emergency dispatchers received calls that two horses were reported running on the I-8 freeway near Willows Rd. in Alpine around 1pm this morning, later they were both it by vehicles in separate incidents. One was killed by a man traveling east on the 8 just east of Willows Rd. His car was badly damaged, but he was not seriously hurt. The second horse was struck and injured by another vehicle on Alpine Blvd. west of Willows Rd. That horse was taken to the Bonita Animal Shelter and is expected to be ok.
