Was your student a successful, happy math student in the past, but now he or she feels overwhelmed and confused?

I am afraid this is getting to be a “common" experience thanks to the Common Core standards. Why is this? Because the Common Core standards are forcing teachers to present too much material too quickly. Most students cannot take it in and achieve mastery at the pace presented in the lower grades and middle school.  More and more parents will need to supply the extra support to keep their students learning and understanding math. Sometimes a few tutoring sessions can make the difference between moving ahead and getting left behind. I love to help parents get caught up, too. Sometimes a combined student-parent session will do the trick.
