UPDATE July 7 2018 10:30am – My apologizes for not being able to update the website until now – I was evacuated as I live in the View streets area that was badly hit by the fire and had limited access to anything but the ACN Facebook page. I was able to get back into my home late last night but no power until this morning so I will do the best I can to update everyone on the latest now below. -Angie B

Latest info from CAL FIRE and Ready San Diego
The numbers for the #WestFire remain the same as the last update. 504 acres with 81% containment. Next update at 6:00 p.m.

CAL FIRE San Diego announced that the following areas previously under evacuation order or warning for the West fire are now open to residents only:
- Palo Verde Ranch community to areas outside the fire perimeter
- Rancho Palo Verde community to areas outside the fire perimeter
- West of South Grade Road area
- West of the fire perimeter
- South of Alpine Boulevard between Peutz Valley Road and South Grade Road
- West of South Grade Road between Alpine Boulevard and Via Viejas Oeste
- West of Via Vejas Oeste between South Grade Road and Via Asoleado
- West of Via Asoleado between Via Viejas Oeste and Japatul Road
The following areas remain under an evacuation order throughout the night and until further notice:
- Suncrest Vista Lane
- Highlands View Road
- Manzanita View Road
- Olive View Road
- Scenic View Road/Scenic View Place
- Pine View Road
- Viejas View Place
- Sage View Drive
- Oak View Place
- Verde View Road
- Calle Caleta Viejas Road
- Via La Mancha
CAL FIRE also reported the following road closures update:
- Alpine Boulevard eastbound from South Grade Road
- Highlands View Road southbound from Honey Hill Ranch Road
- Manzanita View Road eastbound from South Grade Road
- Olive View Road eastbound at South Grade Road
- Scenic View Road eastbound from South Grade Road
- Alpine Boulevard westbound from West Willows Road
- Honey Hill Ranch Road southbound at Suncrest Vista Lane
CAL FIRE is reminding residents entering the area to be aware that hazardous conditions may exist, particularly if a residence or building has burned. If there are electrical wires on the ground or other utility damage, contact SDG&E. Please drive slowly and yield to emergency personnel and utility companies in the area.

NEW UPDATE 3:24 pm – first of all I want to tell all of Alpine how much I love this community and as my heart is breaking and I am sick to my stomach with this nightmare that we are going through right now, I know we will get through this again because we are an incredible town. My prayers are going out to everyone. Past fires are the reason I started this website and I am doing the best I can to keep you updated, but I too have been evacuated, but I will continue to post every update that I can and PLEASE go to our facebook page where residents are communicating directly with each other and sharing real time info. American Red Cross Opens Emergency Shelter

An American Red Cross evacuation shelter is open for residents displaced by the West Fire in Alpine. The shelter is located at Los Coches Creek Middle School, 9669 Dunbar Lane in El Cajon.
The Lakeside Rodeo Grounds is open for large animal evacuations. The grounds are located at 12584 Mapleview St. in Lakeside. If you need assistance with large animal evacuations, contact @SanDiegoCounty Department of Animal Services at (619) 498-2361.
CAL FIRE San Diego is reporting the West Fire is at 350 acres and is 0% contained.
Update 11:57 Structures are now burning in a nearby mobile Home park that is being evacuated.. i do not know that name of the park at this time
Update – 11:51 They are now evacuating a large mobile Home park east of W. willows. I am not sure of which one yet.

IPN IS REPORTING A BRUSH FIRE IN ALPINE at I-8 East and Alpine Blvd. (West Willows Rd.)Â 10-15 Acres with rapid rate of spread and immediate structure threat. Cal Fire and Alpine Fire are on scene. Air support has been requested.

Thank you Angie, for keeping the community informed. Your spreading of the word helped a lot of people, and gave a lot of very useful information to the community. God bless the first responders, they did a heroic job. To coordinate so fast and get so many resources on the situation was truly courageous. Our prayers sadly, are with those in need right now, and we will definitely donate to do what we can. Alpine is an AMAZING CMMUNITY.

Just want to say thank you for keeping all posted. I just want to give a big shout out and thank the senior volunteer s with alpine sheriff. I am proud to say that I am a part of this elite group we put in many hours and I know that are efforts are greatly appreciated by all

My 2 cats are missing. We lived in Alpine Oaks and our home burned. If anyone sees 2 orange tabbyâs, please let me know. Their names are Sammy and Cimba. Sammy is short haired. Cimba is long haired with a fluffy tail. The do not have collars.

Two precious dogs have run off in PV Ranch off of Via Palo Verde Lago in the Fire and evacuation. They are multipoos , one white and one auburn, named Bo and Ted. Please message me ASAP or call 623-703-5086 with any info if perhaps they were picked up in the evacuation or have been seen!
